HUNGER was my senior undergrad art exhibition at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Focusing on deconstructing how I feel about my eating disorder, this exhibition visually depicts different elements of my disorder and the hunger that drives it. In creating these art pieces, I also wanted to open a discussion around food as an addiction just as alcohol or drugs can become addictive.
When people think "food addiction", most imagine an individual weighing either 600lb or 90lb; this is far from always being the case. Through this show, I want to shed a bright light on the truth: people of all shapes and sizes can have this disorder and each person's feelings and struggles with it are valid.
